Cartel leader Emilia enlists Rita, a disgraced lawyer, to help her fake her death so she can finally live authentically as her true self. Karla Sofía Gascón talks about the two years of preparation it took to play this demanding role in Jacques Audiard’s film, and the two extremes of her own personality that she had to play as Emilia and Manitas. Jacques Audiard said he was inspired by the idea for the musical from a chapter in a novel about a drug dealer who yearns to change his identity.

The theater was packed, the fans cheering the cast and crew on from their Cannes awards run to the film festival circuit.
The dancing, the movement, the script, the colors, the visuals
The acting, the plot, the depth of emotion, the camerawork, and the storytelling were all absolutely brilliant. it’s not about man meets woman, it’s about whatever you want it to be. These scenes were shot in Paris, recreating the stress of Mexico City, just as the plot was designed to make sense.
